Balloon Boy, often shortened to BB, is a balloon-selling animatronic from Five Nights at Freddy's 2, released in 2014. In the game he wanders the vents and party rooms, greeting the night guard with a cheerful hello before laughing, a combination that players quickly learned to associate with losing their flashlight and facing danger. Clips of his greeting spread through gameplay videos and horror edits, and the sound remains popular because it instantly signals Five Nights at Freddy's without needing a full jumpscare.

Balloon Boy's creepy hello, hi and laugh from Five Nights at Freddy's 2, used as a jumpscare tease or horror meme sound in edits and streams.
Balloon Boy greets the player with a high, childlike hello and hi before breaking into his unsettling, giggling laugh, a short burst that lasts just over a second. The voice sounds playful at first, almost like a party entertainer, but the sudden shift to laughter makes it feel wrong, especially for anyone who knows he appears in the dark hallways of Five Nights at Freddy's 2. Hearing it out of context is startling because it promises fun while hinting at a jumpscare, which is why it lands so well as a prank cue or a tense beat before a reveal.
