Dark Horse was released by Katy Perry in 2013 on her album Prism, featuring rapper Juicy J, and became one of her biggest hits the following year. The track was later included in Just Dance 2015, where its choreography and striking visual routine introduced the song to a new gaming audience. Clips from that version circulate online for dance challenges, gameplay edits and short meme videos, and the chorus remains familiar because its beat and hook were widely shared on radio, streaming and social platforms.

The Dark Horse chorus clip from Just Dance, featuring Katy Perry's pop hit as players know it from the game, used for dance edits and meme videos.
This clip captures the Dark Horse section as heard in Just Dance, built around Katy Perry's dark pop chorus with its heavy trap beat, pulsing synths and confident vocal hook. The sound is dramatic and instantly recognisable, mixing an Egyptian inspired melody with a slow, powerful drop that makes even simple movements feel theatrical. Listeners hear the tension build before the chorus lands, which gives the moment a bold, playful energy. It works because the beat is clean and repetitive, letting a dancer, character or edited scene take centre stage while the music does the showing off.
