Surfin' Bird was originally released by The Trashmen in 1963, and decades later it became linked to Peter Griffin through Family Guy, where the character dances enthusiastically to the song. Clips of the dance were shared widely as a meme on YouTube, TikTok and other social platforms, often used to celebrate a moment or add chaotic humour to an edit. Its simple, high-energy hook and Peter's recognisable moves keep it popular for reaction videos and dance edits today.

This clip captures Peter Griffin from Family Guy dancing energetically to Surfin' Bird, the fast, catchy surf rock song by The Trashmen. The music drives the moment with its pounding drums, twangy guitar and the repeated bird is the word vocal hook, while Peter's clumsy, enthusiastic moves add to the comedy. It sounds joyful, chaotic and instantly recognisable, turning a simple dance into a burst of silly energy. Listeners smile because the pairing is so unexpected, and the rhythm makes the whole scene feel like a celebration that is impossible to take seriously.
