Puff Along was released in 1979 by British composer Tony Hymas as a light production music track. Its lasting association comes from Chaves, the Brazilian version of the Mexican sitcom El Chavo del Ocho, where upbeat library cues helped shape the show's comic timing. Repeated broadcasts made the melody familiar to generations of viewers in Brazil, even when they did not know its title. Clips later circulated online as a nostalgic shorthand for innocent mischief, hurried movement and old television humour.
