Sulley, full name James P. Sullivan, is the furry blue protagonist of Pixar's Monsters, Inc., released in 2001 and voiced by John Goodman. Short clips of his expressive grunts and hums have been lifted from the film and shared online as standalone reaction sounds. This particular mmm groan spread through meme soundboards and short video edits, where creators reuse familiar animated voices to signal delight without speaking. Its lasting appeal comes from instant recognition, as even a one second vocalisation carries Sulley's gentle, oversized personality.

Short groan from Sulley in Monsters, Inc. where he lets out a low satisfied mmm sound, used as a funny reaction for tasty food and pleasing moments.
This is a brief vocal groan from Sulley, the large blue monster from Monsters, Inc., stretched into a deep, drawn out mmm. It is not a word but a satisfied hum with a slightly goofy, rumbling tone that rises and falls in just over a second. The sound feels warm and appreciative, like he has just tasted something delicious or approved of what he sees. Because it is so short and expressive, viewers instantly read it as pleasure, approval or playful hunger without needing any dialogue or context around it.
