The line comes from Billy Madison, the 1995 comedy starring Adam Sandler as a grown man who must repeat grades one through twelve to inherit his father's company. Miss Lippy is his first grade teacher, and Billy's earnest politeness toward her became one of the film's small quotable moments. Clips of nineties Sandler movies have circulated for years in reaction videos and soundboards, and this short thank you survives because it works out of context as an exaggerated, childlike way to respond to any favour, compliment or unwanted piece of help.
