The Chase began on ITV in 2009, hosted by Bradley Walsh, and its format has since been produced in many countries, including Croatia as Potjera. In each episode contestants first build a cash pot together, then walk over individually for a head-to-head round against a professional quizzer known as the Chaser. Short clips of those formal entrances later circulated on soundboards and in edits, where the serious television staging became a joke in itself. It remains popular because almost any everyday walk can be reframed as a high-stakes quiz confrontation.
