The Lorax first appeared in Dr. Seuss's 1971 children's book and reached a wider audience in Illumination's 2012 animated film The Lorax, where the orange, mustached character speaks for the trees. Dubbed clips in other languages later circulated online as standalone memes, detached from the story. The Vietnamese version became a shareable sound because the familiar character and serious tone clash with audio most viewers cannot follow. It continues to be reused in short edits as a nonsense reaction and unexpected punchline.
