The sound comes from Ural Pelmeni, a long-running Russian comedy show known for short sketches and exaggerated characters, and it features a character calling out for Igor. The clip spread through Russian-language meme pages and soundboards, where the drawn-out name became a shorthand joke for waking someone up or exposing someone who is pretending to be asleep. Its appeal is simple and visual, so it still works in short videos even for viewers who do not know the original sketch.

A drawn-out shout of Igor's name from the Russian comedy show Ural Pelmeni, used when someone is woken or called out after everyone else has fallen asleep.
The clip opens with a hushed, conspiratorial question about whether everyone is asleep, then breaks into a long, exaggerated yell of the name Igor that stretches the final syllables for comic effect. The contrast between the quiet setup and the sudden loud call is the whole joke, turning a simple name into a wake-up alarm. It sounds playful rather than angry, like someone deliberately ruining a quiet moment, and it lands best when the listener is not expecting the volume jump. Hearing it feels like being caught dozing off and jolted awake by a friend.
