The sound is a bass-boosted remix of the familiar notification chime used on Android phones, a tone millions of people recognise from messages and alerts. Bass-boosted edits became a staple of online meme culture, where creators exaggerate a normal everyday sound until it feels absurdly loud and dramatic. This version is especially popular for pranks, with people hiding a speaker in a quiet house and playing it when everyone is calm, turning a routine phone sound into a sudden, room-shaking joke that still works because the original chime is instantly recognisable.

The classic Android notification sound boosted with heavy bass, turning a familiar phone ping into a loud, rumbling meme clip used for pranks and video edits.
This clip takes the short, familiar chime that Android phones use for incoming messages and pushes it through heavy bass boosting, so the light ping becomes a deep, vibrating thump that fills a room. At just under three seconds, it starts with the recognisable notification melody before the low end swells and shakes, making it feel far bigger than a normal phone alert. That contrast is what makes it funny: listeners expect a quiet ding and instead get a booming rumble, which catches them off guard and often makes them laugh, jump, or look around for the source of the noise.
