The sound comes from Nargaroth, a German black metal band, and takes its name from their album and track Black Metal Ist Krieg. The phrase translates as black metal is war, a slogan that sums up the band's raw, uncompromising approach to the genre. Short excerpts have circulated online among metal fans and on soundboards, where the instantly recognisable guitar tone makes it useful shorthand for extremity. It remains popular because it captures the sound of underground black metal in just a few seconds.
Over dit geluid
A short, raw excerpt from Nargaroth's Black Metal Ist Krieg, with distorted guitars and harsh vocals. Fans use it for metal edits, intros and dark videos.
This clip is a short burst of raw black metal from Nargaroth's track Black Metal Ist Krieg, built around distorted, tremolo-picked guitars, blast-beat drumming and a harsh, shouted vocal style. It sounds cold, aggressive and deliberately lo-fi, with little polish to soften the attack. Played on its own, it instantly signals extremity and underground metal culture, which is why it works so well as a shock intro or a punchline for dark humour. Listeners recognise the genre immediately, even without knowing the band, because the tone is so unmistakable.
