Boris comes from the GoAnimate community built around the animated series Caillou, where he appears as Caillou's father and the usual authority figure in fan made grounded videos. GoAnimate, later rebranded as Vyond, let users animate characters with text to speech voices, and those grounded stories spread widely on YouTube during the 2010s. Short clips of characters shouting or screaming were lifted as standalone reactions, and this scream kept circulating because Boris is normally stern and controlled, making a sudden panicked yell feel especially out of character and reusable.
