The burp has been a staple of crude comedy long before memes, but short burp clips spread widely through soundboards, Vine-style edits, and later TikTok and YouTube Shorts where creators needed instant gross-out reactions. Unlike longer cartoon burps, this brief version became popular for its clean cut and timing flexibility. It is often grouped with other bodily humor clips like the fart with reverb in meme libraries, and its continued use comes from how universally understood the joke is without any context or dialogue needed.
Over dit geluid
A short loud burp sound effect used as a meme reaction in funny videos, edits and streams for gross-out humor and comedic timing after a joke.
This is a single exaggerated burp, short and punchy with a wet, guttural tone that lands instantly. It lasts just over a second, starting strong and cutting off cleanly so it feels like a deliberate punchline rather than background noise. Creators use it to break tension, mock manners, or add crude humor to an otherwise normal moment. Because it is so recognizable and abrupt, viewers hear it as a joke in itself, even without any dialogue, which makes it perfect for quick reaction edits and meme compilations where timing matters more than setup.
