The clip is shared on soundboards under the Shenmue tag as the Delin grunt, a brief vocal sound that players and meme editors have lifted for reaction edits. Its appeal comes less from a famous scene than from its usefulness: a single, wordless grunt can stand in for surprise, effort, or embarrassment without needing context. That flexibility has kept it in rotation for short gameplay clips, Discord reactions, and TikTok-style edits, where a one-second sound can carry the joke on its own.
Over dit geluid
A short, sharp grunt from Shenmue known as Delin, used in memes and edits to react to a sudden drop, fail, or awkward moment in a gameplay clip.
This is a very short, throaty grunt that lasts just over a second, sounding like a strained 'uahuh' blurted out in surprise or effort. It is abrupt and slightly comical, with no words to follow, so it lands as a pure reaction rather than a line of dialogue. Because it cuts off so quickly, it works as a punchline in itself, making a fall, a missed shot, or an awkward pause feel more exaggerated and funny. The raw, unpolished quality gives it a retro game feel, and listeners instantly recognise it as a small, human sound of frustration or exertion.
