The phrase comes from Infowars host Alex Jones, who ranted on air that chemicals in tap water were turning frogs gay. The outburst was clipped, remixed and shared across YouTube, Twitter and TikTok, where its dead-serious delivery clashed with the ridiculous claim. It quickly became shorthand for mocking conspiracy theories, especially when a creator wants to suggest that an ordinary event has a secret, absurd explanation. Years later it still works because the original rant is instantly recognisable and the joke needs no context.
