The Great Jaggi first appeared in Monster Hunter Tri in 2009 as the alpha male leading packs of smaller Jaggi, a Bird Wyvern resembling a feathered raptor. Capcom designed its calls to communicate behaviour in combat, with distinct sounds for spotting a hunter, calling allies and becoming enraged after taking damage. As Monster Hunter clips and sound rips spread through gaming forums and video edits, its short enraged call became a reusable monster roar, separated from the fight itself and applied to other angry creatures and characters.

The Great Jaggi enraged roar from Monster Hunter, a short aggressive monster call used for boss fights, gaming edits and creature sound effects.
This is the enraged vocalisation of the Great Jaggi, the pack-leading raptor monster from Monster Hunter. In just over a second it snaps from a guttural growl into a sharp, screeching roar, with a raspy, animal edge that signals the creature has turned aggressive. It is not music or dialogue, just a raw intimidation call designed to warn the hunter before an attack. Played alone it feels tense and threatening, and dropped into a video it instantly reads as a monster powering up, losing its temper, or entering a second phase.
