The chant originates in The Nutty Professor, the 1996 Eddie Murphy comedy, where the name Hercules is shouted again and again for exaggerated comic effect. Clipped from the film scene, it began circulating online as a short reaction sound, shared in memes, edits and short videos whenever someone wanted to summon or celebrate a hero in an overblown way. Its simple repetition makes it instantly recognisable even without the film context, which is why creators still reuse it for entrances, comebacks and ironic hype moments years later.
Over dit geluid
The repeated 'Hercules, Hercules, Hercules' chant from The Nutty Professor, used as a loud, funny mock-heroic callout in memes and reaction videos.
The clip is a rapid, escalating chant of the name Hercules, shouted three times in a row with increasing excitement and a slightly frantic, comedic edge. The voice sounds urgent and over-the-top, as if summoning a hero for a moment that is far too small for such drama, which is exactly what makes it funny. Played over an ordinary clip, it instantly inflates the action, turning a simple entrance, lift, or comeback into a mock-epic event. Listeners recognise the rhythm immediately, and the repetition builds anticipation before the punchline lands, making it ideal for short, punchy edits.
