The 'Now You're a Man' hook from DVDA's comedy rock song by the South Park creators. Meme makers play it to hype up manly wins and mock-epic growing-up moments.

This is the instantly recognizable chorus hook from 'Now You're a Man,' the tongue-in-cheek macho anthem by DVDA, the comedy rock project of South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone. In just a few seconds you hear a punchy, triumphant male vocal backed by driving guitars and drums, delivered with exaggerated heroic energy. It sounds like a parody of an eighties action-movie training montage. Dropped into a video, it instantly frames an ordinary moment as a ridiculous rite of passage, making viewers laugh at the overblown celebration of something small.

Pro-tip

Drop it right on the frame where the transformation lands, like the first rep, shave, or successful flip, then hard-cut the music. Keep the clip dry with no reverb, and avoid looping it, since the joke dies if the heroic buildup outlasts the payoff.
