Pinkie Pie is the hyperactive earth pony from My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic, which premiered in 2010, and her dramatic gasp became one of her signature vocal reactions in the show. Fans clipped the moment and shared it across forums, videos and soundboards, where it took on a life beyond the series as a universal cartoon shock cue. Because the pony fandom and meme editors kept reusing the short inhale for reveals and fake surprises, it remains a familiar reaction sound long after the original episode context is forgotten.

Pinkie Pie's sharp gasp from My Little Pony is a short cartoon reaction sound used for surprise, shock and playful over the top moments online.
Pinkie Pie gasps with a quick, high pitched intake of breath that lands as pure cartoon surprise. The clip is short and clean, with no music or background noise, so the exaggerated inhale is instantly readable even without the picture. It captures her excitable, dramatic personality in under two seconds, turning a small discovery or sudden realization into a big comedic moment. Viewers hear it and immediately understand shock, delight or disbelief, which is why editors use it as a punctuation mark rather than a long reaction.
