Moshi moshi is the standard Japanese greeting used when answering the telephone, not for face to face hellos, and anime fans outside Japan picked it up from subtitled shows and games. The ring ring setup made it perfect for short clips, so the phrase spread on Discord, TikTok and meme edits as a cute way to announce yourself. Its mix of a familiar ringtone and a foreign hello that most viewers instantly recognise keeps it useful for call jokes, stream intros and character entrances.
Over dit geluid
A cute phone greeting sound effect where a voice says ring ring, moshi moshi. Popular as a Discord meme for answering calls and joking hellos.
This clip opens with a classic telephone ring ring before a bright, playful voice answers with moshi moshi, the Japanese way of saying hello on the phone. The delivery is sweet and slightly exaggerated, turning a simple greeting into an instant joke. It feels like an anime character or a friend picking up just to be cute, which is why the timing lands so well. Viewers recognise the setup in a second, and the cheerful tone makes even a random call, join or entrance feel light, silly and welcoming instead of serious.
