The Tung Tung Tung Sahur sound effect from the viral Indonesian brainrot meme, used for Ramadan wake-up calls and chaotic jump-scare edits online.

This is the repetitive Tung Tung Tung Sahur chant from the Indonesian brainrot meme, built around a wooden character beating a kentungan drum to wake people for sahur. The audio loops the name in a flat, urgent voice over hollow knocking sounds, getting funnier and more menacing with each repeat. It feels both silly and slightly cursed, which is why edits often let it creep in quietly before it takes over the whole scene. The rhythm is instantly recognisable even without the visuals.

Pro-tip

Place the first Tung hits quietly under a dark or empty shot, then let the full chant land on the reveal for maximum jump-scare comedy. Trim the loop to three to five repeats and avoid covering dialogue, as the knocking quickly dominates.

Hoe mensen het gebruiken

Drop it behind a character sneaking into frame at night.
Use it as a fake Ramadan alarm in group chats.
Loop it over brainrot edits for escalating chaotic energy.
Play it when someone appears unexpectedly in a TikTok skit.

Meer informatie

Tung Tung Tung Sahur comes from the Italian brainrot wave that spread on TikTok in 2025, mixing Indonesian Ramadan tradition with absurd AI-generated characters. Sahur is the pre-dawn meal before fasting, traditionally announced by drumming and calls through the streets. The meme turned that wake-up ritual into a tall wooden figure carrying a bat, and its looping chant was shared in edits, remixes and horror-comedy videos. Misspellings like tsagur appeared as the sound was reposted across soundboards.
