Wizards in Winter is an instrumental track by American rock group Trans-Siberian Orchestra, released on their 2004 album The Lost Christmas Eve. Built around classical themes and rock instrumentation, it became a seasonal favourite largely through elaborate home Christmas light displays set to the song, which were widely shared online. Its combination of familiar holiday atmosphere and relentless energy has kept it in regular use for festive videos, even outside December, as a shorthand for winter magic with a dramatic edge.
Over dit geluid
Wizards in Winter is a fast, dramatic Trans-Siberian Orchestra instrumental used in Christmas videos, light shows and festive edits for a magical winter feel.
The clip captures the high-energy opening rush of Wizards in Winter, a purely instrumental track built around a racing violin melody, sharp electric guitar riffs and driving drums that keep the tempo urgent from the first note. It feels festive but intense, like a snowstorm turning into a chase, with bright, almost magical flourishes layered over a heavy rock backbone. Listeners tend to feel a sudden lift in excitement, which is why it works so well as a burst of momentum rather than background music, instantly signalling that something spectacular or chaotic is about to happen.
