Jeopardy was created by Merv Griffin and first aired in 1964, with the current syndicated version launching in 1984. Its Final Jeopardy clue gives contestants 30 seconds to write an answer while 'Think!', a tune Griffin himself composed, plays in the background. Because generations of viewers learned to associate that short cue with thinking under pressure, the clip moved easily online into quiz edits, memes and reaction videos. It remains the standard audio shorthand whenever someone is visibly stuck, waiting or running out of time to decide in front of an audience.
