Amogus comes from Among Us, the social deduction game released by Innersloth in 2018 that exploded in popularity in 2020. In early 2021 users began posting a crudely drawn, distorted crewmate captioned Amogus, turning the character into an ironic meme copied into comics, edits, and remixes. The lmao version adds exaggerated laughing to that image, leaning into how overused and absurd the joke had become. It remains popular in gaming edits and Discord soundboards as shorthand for calling something sus in the dumbest possible way.

The Amogus lmao sound effect is a distorted Among Us meme clip with exaggerated laughing, used for silly sus moments and ironic reaction edits online.
This clip takes the Amogus meme, the squashed and distorted version of an Among Us crewmate, and pairs it with over the top laughing that keeps escalating. The voice is pitched and goofy, turning a simple sus joke into pure absurdity. It sounds deliberately low quality and stretched out over twelve seconds, which makes the laugh feel even more ridiculous as it goes on. Viewers instantly read it as ironic humor rather than a real reaction, perfect for moments that are meant to be dumb, suspicious, or not taken seriously at all.
