Freak on a Leash was released by American nu metal band Korn as a single in 1999, taken from their 1998 album Follow the Leader. Its animated bullet sequence video became one of the defining rock clips of the late MTV era and won a Grammy for Best Short Form Music Video. Online, the song's most unhinged vocal section was clipped and reused as a reaction sound, which is why searches for the freak on a leash meme lead to short edits rather than the full track.
O tym dźwięku
Clip from Korn's Freak on a Leash, the nu metal hit famous for its frantic scat breakdown. Creators use it for chaotic edits and sudden meme meltdowns.
This seven second excerpt captures the unhinged energy that made Freak on a Leash a nu metal staple, with Jonathan Davis pushing his voice into a rapid, percussive scat over heavy, downtuned guitars and a bouncing rhythm section. It does not sound like a normal chorus at all, more like a vocal breakdown snapping under pressure. That strange, aggressive burst is why the clip works so well out of context. Dropped into a video, it instantly signals frustration, chaos or a character losing control, turning an ordinary moment into something frantic and funny.
