The sound comes from WWE, where John Cena is introduced with a dramatic announcement before his entrance music starts. And his name is John Cena became a running joke online, as editors cut the loud reveal into unrelated videos to surprise viewers at an unexpected moment. The format spread through short video platforms and meme edits, where the sudden shift from calm footage to a wrestling entrance made the punchline instantly clear. It remains popular because the voice, pause and music are immediately recognisable, even to people who do not follow wrestling.

The iconic WWE announcement for John Cena, with his theme and the crowd shouting his name. Creators use it for dramatic reveals and surprise entrances.
This clip captures the moment a WWE announcer builds up to John Cena's entrance, followed by his booming theme music and the crowd erupting as his name is finally revealed. The voice is loud, theatrical and deliberately drawn out, rising in excitement before the music hits hard and instantly signals that someone important has arrived. Listeners recognise it immediately, even without video, because the pause, the shout and the familiar riff work together like a punchline. It turns an ordinary entrance into a spectacle, making the person on screen feel unstoppable, larger than life and ready to steal the show.
