John Cena is a WWE wrestler whose entrance music, The Time Is Now from 2005, became the basis for the Unexpected John Cena meme. The format spread widely online around 2015 through Vine edits, prank videos and remixes where a normal scene was suddenly interrupted by his name being shouted and the theme blasting in. The clickbait version leans into deceptive thumbnails and titles that promise one thing and deliver Cena instead, and it remains popular because the setup is understood instantly by almost everyone online.

The John Cena clickbait sound is a short meme clip of his entrance theme used to troll viewers expecting something else in videos and streams.
This clip delivers the classic unexpected John Cena moment in just a few seconds, starting quietly before the announcer shouts his name and the brassy entrance theme crashes in at full volume. The trumpet riff is instantly recognisable even to people who have never watched wrestling, and the sudden volume jump is the whole joke. It works like an audio jump scare, catching the listener off guard and turning an ordinary or misleading setup into a loud, absurd punchline that feels both nostalgic and deliberately annoying in the best meme way.
