The line comes from El Chavo del Ocho, the Mexican sitcom created by Roberto Gómez Bolaños in the 1970s, where Carlos Villagrán played Quico, the pampered boy in a sailor suit who lived with his mother Doña Florinda. In Brazil the show was dubbed as Chaves and Quico became Kiko, which explains the two spellings used for the same clip today. Shared first through television reruns and later through meme pages and soundboards, the shout survives because it is short, instantly understood and easy to drop into almost any argument.
