Marsupilami was created by Belgian cartoonist André Franquin and first appeared in comics in the early 1950s as a wild, long-tailed jungle creature with a famous Houba cry. Disney later adapted the character for television in the early 1990s, including segments in Raw Toonage and his own animated series, where he was given a talkative, mischievous personality beyond that single call. Clips of his voice have since circulated on soundboards and in fan edits, keeping the character familiar to viewers who remember the cartoons and introducing his distinctive voice to new audiences.
