Mater comes from Pixar's animated film Cars, released in 2006, where the rusty tow truck from Radiator Springs is voiced by Larry the Cable Guy. His loyal, simple hearted way of speaking made many of his lines easy to quote, and short clips of his voice later spread through meme soundboards and social video edits. The I need your help plea survived because it is instantly recognisable even out of context, letting creators turn an ordinary request for assistance into a recognisable Cars joke that audiences understand in seconds.
O tym dźwięku
Mater from Cars says I need your help in this short voice clip, often used as a funny plea for backup in memes, edits, reaction videos and gaming clips.
This clip features Mater, the friendly tow truck from Cars, calling out for help in his familiar cheerful country drawl. The line is delivered quickly and earnestly, with that slightly panicked but good natured tone that makes it sound urgent without ever feeling serious. At about sixteen seconds it works as more than a single quote, building a little moment of pleading that lands as comedy. Viewers instantly recognise the character and the situation, so the sound creates instant sympathy and laughter, especially when it is paired with someone stuck, overwhelmed or pretending a small problem is a major emergency.
