Odoru Pompokorin was released in 1990 by Japanese band B.B. Queens as the opening theme for the anime Chibi Maruko-chan, based on Momoko Sakura's manga about a cheerful schoolgirl. Its catchy chorus and danceable rhythm made it a hit in Japan and a lasting part of anime nostalgia. Decades later, clips of the song spread online through anime edits, dance videos and meme compilations, introducing it to viewers who had never seen the original series. It remains popular because the melody is instantly recognisable, joyful and easy to pair with lighthearted content.
O tym dźwięku
The cheerful Odoru Pompokorin theme from Chibi Maruko-chan, a catchy Japanese anime song often used for happy, nostalgic and lighthearted video moments.
Odoru Pompokorin is a bright, bouncy Japanese pop song with a playful melody, chirpy female vocals and a marching, almost childlike rhythm that instantly feels cheerful and a little silly. The tune bounces along with simple, repetitive phrasing, handclap-like energy and a warm 1990s anime sound that makes it feel nostalgic even for listeners hearing it for the first time. Played over a clip, it turns an ordinary moment into something cute, funny and upbeat, like a cartoon celebration, and it works best when the visuals match its innocent, dance-along joy rather than anything serious or dramatic.
