Marvel vs Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes was released in 2000 and became one of the most played crossover fighting games, bringing Marvel heroes and Capcom fighters together in fast three on three battles. Captain America entered the roster with his shield based moves from earlier Marvel fighting games, and his short attack shouts became easy to recognise during matches. Clips like this one later circulated on soundboards and in edit communities, where fighting game fans reuse classic voice lines for reactions, highlights and nostalgic memes.

Captain America's Shield Flash voice line from Marvel vs Capcom 2, the short shout he makes when launching his attack in the arcade fighting game.
This is Captain America's quick attack call from Marvel vs Capcom 2, lasting under a second as he launches his shield across the screen. The voice is loud, clean and heroic, with a sharp heroic shout that cuts through the fast arcade music and hit effects. Because it is so short and punchy, it lands like a comic book sound bubble in audio form, instantly signalling a heroic entrance, a throw, or a comeback moment. Viewers who know the game recognise it immediately, even without seeing the shield animation that goes with it.
