Lance Vance is a major character in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Rockstar's 2002 neon-soaked crime epic, where he starts as Tommy Vercetti's partner before ambition turns him into a rival. His story ends in the game's final mission, Keep Your Friends Close, when Tommy confronts and kills him after the betrayal. The 'last dance' title nods to that fatal showdown. Years later, GTA soundboards and meme edits keep the moment alive, using it as shorthand for any partnership that ends in a dramatic double-cross.
