The clip is credited to Brazilian funk artist MC Carol and centres on her saying the Portuguese phrase que isso, meaning what is that. Short reaction clips like this travel easily between soundboards, short-form videos and meme edits because the emotion is clear even to viewers who do not speak Portuguese. Its one-second length makes it easy to drop into a punchline, and its use as a quick, judgemental reaction has kept it circulating in Brazilian internet humour and reaction content.

MC Carol's short que isso sound effect is a surprised Portuguese exclamation asking what is that, used in memes and edits for unexpected moments.
This is a one-second burst of MC Carol's voice, sharp and incredulous as she asks 'que isso' in Portuguese, roughly meaning what is that. The delivery is fast, high-energy and slightly amused, with the emphasis landing hard on the question itself, so it feels less like a calm inquiry and more like a startled reaction to something unbelievable. Because it is so brief, it cuts cleanly into a video, instantly signalling confusion, disbelief or playful judgement before the viewer has time to process the scene. It works best when the visual already does the explaining, letting her voice supply the punchline.
