Nightwolf is a Native American shaman fighter in Mortal Kombat 9, the 2011 reboot of the long-running fighting series. Like other fighters in the game, he has a distinct vocal reaction when he loses a round, and this short clip captures that knockout scream. The sound circulated on user soundboards as fans ripped short character reactions for edits and memes, rather than as a viral trend on its own. It remains useful because it is instantly recognisable to fighting game fans and works as a quick audio shorthand for defeat without needing any context from the match itself.

The MK9 Nightwolf K.O. scream from Mortal Kombat 9, a sharp defeated yell after a knockout. Gamers use it for fight edits, rage moments and meme clips.
This is the short, raw scream Nightwolf lets out when he is knocked out in Mortal Kombat 9, lasting just over a second. It starts as a sudden, high-pitched cry that cracks under the impact, then cuts off abruptly, leaving the silence of defeat hanging in the air. There is no music or dialogue, just the character's pained vocal reaction to a finishing blow. In a video it instantly reads as loss, humiliation and over-the-top fighting game drama, which is why it lands so well as a punchline after a failed attempt, a surprise defeat or a deliberately dramatic edit.
