The sound comes from the animated sitcom Family Guy, where baby Stewie Griffin badgers his mother Lois by repeating every version of mom he can think of until she snaps. The scene became one of the show's most quoted Stewie moments, spreading widely as a GIF, a ringtone style clip and a reaction sound on message boards and video edits. Its staying power comes from a universal experience, being pestered by a child, partner or friend who refuses to stop until they are finally acknowledged by name.

Stewie Griffin repeatedly calling for Lois with mom, mommy and mama in this Family Guy clip, used as a funny attention-seeking reaction sound.
The clip captures Stewie Griffin in full pestering mode, cycling through mom, mommy, mama and mum in an increasingly insistent loop while trying to get Lois's attention. His posh toddler voice stays sweet at first, then turns more whiny and relentless with each repetition, which is exactly why the joke lands. It runs for almost twelve seconds, long enough to build real comic frustration. Listeners instantly recognise the rhythm and the escalating neediness, making it perfect shorthand for anyone who will not stop asking for something until they get an answer.
