War Thunder is a free-to-play vehicular combat game from Gaijin Entertainment in which players fly aircraft, drive tanks and sail ships in large multiplayer battles. In its aircraft, the radar warning receiver alerts the pilot when an enemy radar has detected or locked onto them, a system copied from real military aviation. Gameplay clips featuring the tense beeping have spread through YouTube, TikTok and Discord edits, where the sound now signals impending danger even outside the game. Its recognisability among players keeps it popular for war, flight and fail compilations.

The radar warning receiver alert from War Thunder, a sharp beeping tone that warns a pilot of radar lock and incoming missiles, used in gaming memes and edits.
This is the radar warning receiver, or RWR, alert heard in the cockpit in War Thunder. It is a rapid, high-pitched electronic beeping that rises in urgency as a radar lock tightens or a missile closes in, punctuated by the tense silence between bursts that makes the danger feel immediate. For players it is instantly recognisable as the moment a calm flight turns into a scramble to flare, dodge and survive, and for viewers it creates a spike of panic even without any gameplay on screen. That mix of warning and adrenaline is why the clip works well as a punchline for danger, bad decisions and close calls.
