Lily Savage was the drag alter ego of Liverpudlian performer Paul O'Grady, who built the character on the gay club circuit before taking her to national television in the nineties with her own chat shows and game show hosting. Famous for waspish put-downs delivered in a thick Scouse accent, Savage became a cult figure whose catchphrases outlived the era. O'Grady died in 2023, and since then short audio grabs of the character have circulated widely as reaction drops, kept alive by fans who still quote her lines in group chats and meme pages.

Lily Savage asks 'what are you incinerating?' in a one-second Scouse one-liner from Paul O'Grady's drag act, played over burnt food and cooking disaster clips.
The clip is barely over a second long: Lily Savage, the bleach-blonde drag creation of Paul O'Grady, fires off the question 'what are you incinerating?' in a thick Liverpool accent that turns every syllable into a punchline. The delivery is pure Savage — theatrical, incredulous and faintly scandalised, the voice of a woman who has just walked into a kitchen full of smoke and refuses to be impressed. Hearing it lands like a well-timed heckle from the front row: it takes an ordinary burnt-dinner moment and frames it as a small catastrophe, with the speaker cast as the unimpressed witness rather than the culprit.
