This clip traces back to M. Bison, the Street Fighter villain, whose emphatic yes became a reusable reaction sound online. Editors reshaped that vocal into the Witty Alien brilliant move version, pairing its alien-like delivery with chess and strategy moments where a clever play deserves a dramatic celebration. It spread through meme edits and gaming clips, where the short length and instant recognisability made it easy to drop over a winning move. It remains popular because it turns a smart decision into a punchline, giving viewers an immediate cue that something brilliant has just happened.
