You're the Inspiration was released by Chicago in 1984 on the album Chicago 17, written by Peter Cetera and David Foster. It became a major soft rock hit, reaching the top three in the US, and its earnest chorus made it a staple of wedding slideshows, dedications and 80s nostalgia playlists. Online, the short title hook is reused as a sincere or playfully over-the-top thank you, instantly signalling that one person is the reason behind someone else's happiness or success.

The chorus hook from Chicago's 1984 ballad You're the Inspiration, a romantic piano-led soft rock snippet people use for heartfelt dedications and tributes.
This is a short excerpt of the soaring chorus from Chicago's soft rock ballad, built around warm piano, layered harmonies and a sincere lead vocal singing the title line. The melody swells gently rather than hitting hard, giving it a tender, uplifting feeling that lands like a dedication. Listeners instantly hear it as a thank you to someone who changed their life for the better. Because the lyric is so direct and earnest, the clip works as both a genuine romantic moment and a slightly cheesy, affectionate joke between friends, partners and family members.
