Absolutely Fabulous, often shortened to Ab Fab, is a British television sitcom created by Jennifer Saunders that first aired on the BBC in 1992. Saunders stars as Edina Monsoon, a fashion-obsessed public relations agent, alongside Joanna Lumley as her best friend Patsy Stone. The affectionate greeting 'darling' became one of the show's signature sounds, used by Edina for her daughter Saffron and her glamorous circle. Clips of the line later spread through soundboards, reaction videos and social media, where fans use it as shorthand for camp British comedy and fabulous excess.
About this sound
A short clip of the iconic 'darling' greeting from Absolutely Fabulous, perfect for glamorous entrances, sassy reactions and British comedy moments in videos.
This short voice clip captures the warm, drawling 'darling' made famous by Absolutely Fabulous, delivered with the exaggerated affection and theatrical flair that defined Edina Monsoon and her glamorous, chaotic world. The voice is soft, playful and instantly recognisable, stretching the single word into a greeting, a plea and a joke all at once. It lands best as a knowing wink to fans of British comedy, turning an ordinary entrance, compliment or request into something camp, affectionate and slightly outrageous, while still sounding sweet rather than sharp.
