Ace Ventura is the eccentric pet detective played by Jim Carrey in the 1994 comedy Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, a role that made exaggerated delivery and physical comedy central to the character. Short voice clips from the film have long circulated on soundboards and in meme edits, where a single blunt line can stand in for a whole reaction. This clip survives because it is instantly recognisable, easy to place over a question, and still carries the film's playful, chaotic humour for viewers who know the character.
About this sound
A short Ace Ventura clip saying never ask, from the Jim Carrey comedy film. Creators use it as a reaction to awkward questions and nosy moments in edits.
This is a brief spoken line delivered in Ace Ventura's unmistakable, over-the-top style, with Jim Carrey's fast, expressive delivery and a teasing, dismissive edge. The voice is loud, playful and slightly exasperated, landing like a joke rather than a serious warning, which makes the refusal feel funny instead of rude. Because it is so short, it works as an instant punchline: the listener immediately understands that a question has been shut down, but in a way that invites laughter. It carries the chaotic energy of the character, so even without the film scene, the tone alone signals comedy, confidence and absurdity.
