Ah Lelek comes from Passinho do Volante, the 2012 Brazilian funk carioca track by MC Federado e os Leleks, a group of teenagers from Rio de Janeiro. The song promoted the passinho dance craze and spread widely online in 2013, helped by its simple repetitive chorus and homemade dance video. Footballers and fans adopted the celebration, pushing the chant beyond Brazil into international meme and edit culture. Its short loopable hook has kept it alive on soundboards and social videos long after the original chart run.
About this sound
The catchy Ah Lelek chant from the Brazilian funk hit Passinho do Volante, used in memes, edits and party videos for a fun, energetic punchline.
This clip captures the looping Ah lelek lek lek lek chant that drives Passinho do Volante, sung in bright, youthful voices over a bouncy Brazilian funk beat. The syllables are simple and repetitive, building momentum each time they circle back, which makes the hook instantly recognisable even without the rest of the song. It feels playful, rowdy and deliberately silly, like a group of friends hyping each other up on a dance floor. Dropping it into a video adds instant energy and turns an ordinary moment into a celebratory, meme ready joke.
