The exact recording behind this alarm-style meow has no confirmed original source, creator or release date, so it circulates online simply as a reusable meme sound rather than a clip tied to a known film or show. Short cat vocal clips spread easily on soundboards because they work without context, and this one found its niche as a wake up and alert joke. It sits alongside milder cat clips like the sad meow song, but its repetitive urgency makes it better suited to pranks, alarms and exaggerated reactions than to sad edits.
About this sound
A repetitive cat meow that rises and loops like an alarm clock, used as a funny wake up sound, meme alert and attention grabbing edit sting.
This clip is a cat meowing over and over in a loud, urgent pattern that sounds unmistakably like a ringing alarm. Each meow lands on a similar pitch and rhythm, building from funny to deliberately annoying the longer it plays, which lasts around nine seconds. There is no speech or music, just the persistent animal call front and centre. That nagging loop is the joke, because viewers instantly read it as a warning, a wake up call or a pet demanding attention right now, making even a calm scene feel suddenly urgent and chaotic.
