Applause tracks with a spoken Ladies and Gentlemen intro have long been used in theatres, circuses, talk shows and sporting events to signal that something important is about to happen. Online, creators borrowed that familiar showmanship for short form video, using the announcement as a setup and the clapping as the punchline. The contrast between the formal delivery and everyday subjects is why it works as a meme, and it remains popular for introductions, talent show parodies, unboxings and ironic celebrations of very minor wins.
About this sound
Applause sound effect with a Ladies and Gentlemen announcement, perfect for introductions, award moments, reveals and meme edits that need a grand entrance.
This clip pairs a formal Ladies and Gentlemen voice announcement with a burst of enthusiastic applause and cheering. The voice is clear and theatrical, like a show host or ring announcer building anticipation, and the clapping that follows feels live and celebratory rather than canned. It lasts just a few seconds, which makes the entrance feel big without dragging. Viewers instantly read it as a presentation moment, so even an ordinary reveal, a pet walking into frame, or a friend arriving late feels like a headline act worth applauding.
