Birthday is a track by American singer Selena Gomez from her debut solo album Stars Dance, released in 2013. The song became a natural fit for birthday posts because its chorus directly celebrates the occasion over dance pop production. Clips of the hook later circulated on video apps and soundboards, where fans and creators reused the short excerpt for greetings, edits and party content. Its appeal has lasted because the reference is instantly clear, even without context, and the upbeat tone suits both sincere tributes and playful, ironic birthday memes among friends online.
