The exact origin of this clip is unknown, as it was uploaded to a user-generated soundboard with only a short French note calling it the best part of a brain fart. The joke itself plays on the English slang term brain fart, meaning a sudden mental lapse, paired literally with a fart sound for comic effect. That pun format is common across meme pages, Discord soundboards and short-form video edits, where a crude sound turns a mistake into a punchline. Its short length keeps it reusable.
About this sound
A short, punchy brain fart sound effect capturing the best part of the classic gag. Creators use it for fail moments, awkward pauses and comedy edits.
This is the best part of the classic brain fart gag, trimmed to just over four seconds of pure comedic timing. It opens with a low, bubbling build that wobbles and sputters before landing on a loud, unmistakable rip. The sound is cartoonish rather than realistic, with a rubbery texture that makes it instantly read as a joke. Played over a reaction shot or a failed attempt, it turns an awkward silence into a punchline. Viewers recognize the gag immediately, which is why it works as a quick, silly payoff that never needs explaining.
