The Bwahhh cry comes from the Rabbids, called Lapins Crétins in French, who first appeared in the 2006 video game Rayman Raving Rabbids. Their wide-eyed expressions, slapstick behavior, and loud vocal outbursts became central features of the series. As the characters expanded into additional games and animated productions, the scream became an identifiable part of their comedy. Online creators still use it because its abrupt intensity communicates panic, confusion, and gleeful chaos without requiring spoken dialogue.
About this sound
The frantic Bwahhh cry from Lapins Crétins, also known as Rabbids, is a comic reaction sound for chaotic fails, sudden surprises, and silly edits.
This short clip captures the signature “Bwahhh” vocal outburst associated with the Lapins Crétins, known internationally as the Rabbids. The cry begins as a strained yell and expands into the loud, absurd scream that defines the characters’ chaotic humor. Its exaggerated delivery can make an ordinary mistake, surprise, or awkward reveal feel wildly overdramatic. Because the sound is brief and instantly recognizable, it works especially well as a reaction beat in gaming videos, animated edits, memes, and clips built around unpredictable behavior.
