Charjabug is Pokémon number 737, introduced in Pokémon Sun and Moon in 2016 as part of Generation VII. It is the evolved form of Grubbin and later evolves into Vikavolt, found in the Alola region. Like other Pokémon cries, its call was created as a short in-game sound that plays when the creature appears in battle or in the Pokédex. Clips of individual cries later spread through wikis, videos and soundboards, where collectors use them to identify species, complete Pokédex projects and add authentic game audio to fan content.
About this sound
The Charjabug cry from Pokémon is the short electric buzzing call of Pokémon #737, used by fans for games, edits and creature sound effects.
Charjabug's cry is a brief, mechanical chirp with a low electric buzz underneath a higher pitched squeak. It lasts just over a second, rising quickly then cutting off with a slightly staticky finish that fits the Bug and Electric type Pokémon. Played on its own it feels alert and a little comical, like a battery powered insect powering up. Fans recognise the clipped, synthetic tone instantly, because Pokémon cries are not animal recordings but distinctive digital calls designed to give each species its own memorable identity in battle.
