About this sound

Jack Black shouts 'Chicken jockey' in A Minecraft Movie as a zombie riding a chicken charges into battle. Creators use it for chaotic reveals and entrances.

This is the two-second shout from A Minecraft Movie where Steve, played by Jack Black, spots the rare Minecraft mob of a baby zombie riding a chicken and yells its name at full volume. The delivery is loud, triumphant and slightly unhinged, with the words punched out over the film's battle noise. Dropped into an edit, it lands like a hype horn for gamers, instantly signalling that something small, fast and chaotic is about to wreck the entire scene on screen with zero warning.

Pro tip

Drop it the moment a small character or pet storms into view, and cut the music for half a beat so the shout lands clean. Pair it with a zoom punch or screen shake, but never use it twice in one edit.

How people use it

A tiny pet dramatically interrupts a serious gaming stream.
A toddler charges into the room mid-video call.
